About the composition

Gratitud (Para Ti Pa) was composed during April-May of 2023 as a gift for my father’s 73rd birthday. Although I’ve been a musician my entire life, for some reason I had never composed any music for my parents. With that in mind, I decided to write a piece dedicated to my dad. ‘Gratitud’ is the Spanish word for ‘gratitude’ and ‘para ti pa’ means ‘for you dad’. 

I’ve always been very grateful that my parents allowed me to pursue music and dad spent countless hours driving me around, taking me to lessons and gigs all over the place. Without mum and dad’s support, I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy music the way that I have. So thanks dad - I’ll be forever grateful.
